Stormrage

Stormrage, the seventh World of Warcraft novel, addresses the origin of the Emerald Nightmare — the corruption spreading through the Emerald Dream, Azeroth's spiritual mirror, that has trapped Malfurion Stormrage and is bleeding into the waking world as uncontrollable nightmares. Richard Knaak writes the novel as a quest to locate and free the archdruid while the green dragonflight is overtaken and druids across the world find themselves unable to return from the Dream. The novel serves as canonical prequel to the Cataclysm-era events in the game.

Richard Ferrone narrates the ambitious Warcraft lore with the epic register the source material demands. At nearly sixteen hours it is one of the more substantial World of Warcraft novel productions, and Ferrone's command of the ensemble cast — from Malfurion's imprisoned perspective to the external rescue mission — maintains narrative clarity through the complex mythology.
