Night Shift / Night Shadow

Night Shift pairs a radio host with the detective assigned to protect her from a threatening caller, while Night Shadow follows a prosecutor who falls for the mysterious vigilante Nemesis — who has his own reasons for remaining unidentified. Nora Roberts's first two Night Tales novellas established the series template: a heroine in genuine danger, a hero whose methods are unorthodox, and a romance that develops under pressure rather than leisure.
