Monster's Mercy

Rene has spent his life at the mercy of something dark inside him, a compulsion that drove him to violence and left little room for anything else. Andrea Parsneau delivers a performance that matches the story's dual nature, shifting fluidly between Rene's hardened pragmatism and the quieter humanity he has cultivated in his new life. Her pacing keeps the 14-hour runtime consistently engaging, and her command of morally complex characters gives the fantasy setting real weight. Arand's blend of dark backstory and LitRPG progression translates exceptionally well to audio, with Parsneau grounding the more fantastical elements in Rene's lived-in weariness.
