Troy Duran and Maxine Mitchell bring distinct, grounded voices to Dom and Ekko, making their slow-building dynamic feel authentic rather than staged. The dual narration exposes the gap between what the characters say and what they feel, which is where A.K. Evans does her sharpest work. At just under nine hours, the pacing stays taut without rushing the romance, and Mitchell captures Ekko's stubborn resilience in a way that gives the story added emotional weight in audio form.
