January LaVoy took over the series narration here and makes the transition seamless, finding the same practical toughness in Lindsay that earlier readers recognized while adding her own warmth to the quieter scenes. Her pacing through the novel's short chapters is precise, and she handles the series' trademark momentum, where chapters end on hooks, with practiced ease.
